History of the 6th Sense
6th Sense started out on 1 October 2004 as a project of Sickboy and Nineteen, back in those days the only played game was Vietcong, the duo was soon expanded to a trio, with the joining of ReWired.
In 2004, around July, we started playing on the Meat Grinder servers, never played a game online before, in fact we had never even played Vietcong! It was due to Sgt. Smoke’s continues ‘nagging’ to check Vietcong, that we finally came to it. It was Hex DK who taught me all the wonders of VC and the rules of TMG.TMG is also where we met most of our current or better said ‘older’ members like Shogun (who has been with us from the start!!)
After some weeks of play, while we could not always join with the ‘full’ group of players that we would like to play, and due to the lack of admins and due to ping troubles, Nineteen and i came up with the idea of buying our own server and setting up our own gaming community with the key features of a good, stable, low-ping and enjoyable experience.
We started with only two vietcong servers (hosted in Amsterdam) and a forum, but where is a gaming community with a server and forum but without a webpage?
This is where ReWired came into play! He built all the websites we’ve had since the start; Nice designs, colors, logos and much information where the key for the website.
Most of our rules originated from The Meat Grinder servers, we used them as the base for our current rules. In time we have added, removed and tweaked our rules a lot to reflect the current needs.
After months and months of nagging from Toccoa and at some point from JerK as well we decided around February 2005 to take a look at Operation Flashpoint.
We have been busy for weeks to sort out the addons mess that we got from Toccoa and JerK, but then it finally happend; The first 6th Sense Addon Pack came out, working every week on it to update it, make it more stable, add new features, remove unnecessary stuff etc.
We then finally had a near-100%-stable OFP environment with enough features, gadgets, effects, missions etc. to keep it running till the release of OFP2/Armed Assault/Game2.
September 2005
We were still active and the community was running smoothly; mainly playing Vietcong and Operation Flashpoint. Trying out more games and working on a server upgrade to be able to simultaneously run VC1, VC2, OFP and maybe more games that interest the community.
We will continue in doing our best to improve, listening to our members and giving you the best experience possible in any of our hosted games!
October 2009
5 years, doesn’t time fly?
Things have been busy, things have been evolving in Vietcong and OFP (Armed Assault 1 / 2).
Vietcong has a new Server Manager software, and both VC and ArmA have renewed statistics and possibilities.
Our new website is in the process of being launched, with new Challenges and prospects.
